Exciting news – another award has just been received from the ColorTape International Film Festival! This time it is the Director’s Best Debut Award – Quarter Finalist awarded to A Reason to Leave’s director Norman Gregory.
There were 839 high quality entries this year and A Reason to Leave made it into the Top 100 early in the year and then progressed through the qualifying stages to make the final sixteen.
Alex Schiller , CEO and Founder of ColorTape International commented: “this year, just like on previous years, we were overwhelmed with the high quality of entries we have received from filmmakers. Choosing the best was just as difficult as making a film.”
The anonymous panel of judges is randomly selected by invited guests from the media, TV, education, IT, arts, manufacturing and other industries, services and goods providers, festival representatives. Celebrities are also included from time to time.
The panels of judges from the festival zones had to decide on awarding higher points according to a number of criteria including film analysis, story to plot, execution, imagination, visual and thematic creativity; good acting by lead and cast, sound and music, credits and mise-en-scene and title to roll of credits. In addition graphic design, poster design were also considered and awarded extra points.
